Introducing Michał Matysiak: Spatial Dialogues

Galleri Tapper-Popermajer is proud to announce the opening of a solo exhibition featuring the work of Polish artist Michał Matysiak. Known for his innovative approach that bridges traditional craftsmanship and digital technology, Matysiak’s practice invites viewers to explore the dynamic interplay between physical and virtual spaces.

Born in 1988, Matysiak’s artistic journey encompasses sculpture, painting, architecture, and 3D graphic design. His sculptures, primarily crafted in welded steel, emphasize the fluidity of form and the transformative nature of space. Inspired by deconstructivist architecture and historical sculptural movements, he focuses on the three-dimensional essence of his work, encouraging audiences to engage with art in immersive and contemplative ways.

In addition to his physical sculptures, Matysiak incorporates augmented and virtual reality into his practice, allowing for new dimensions of interaction. His innovative use of technology challenges conventional perceptions of sculpture, offering viewers a unique experience that transcends traditional boundaries.

This exhibition showcases a selection of Matysiak’s most recent works, including his acclaimed series Figura Serpentinata, which reflects his fascination with variability and movement. Through this collection, Matysiak invites audiences to contemplate the relationship between solids, volumes, and spatial phenomena.
