Spatial Dialogues

Born in 1988, Matysiak’s artistic journey encompasses sculpture, painting, architecture, and 3D graphic design. His sculptures, primarily crafted in welded steel, emphasize the fluidity of form and the transformative nature of space. Inspired by deconstructivist architecture and historical sculptural movements, he focuses on the three-dimensional essence of his work, encouraging audiences to engage with art in immersive and contemplative ways.

In addition to his physical sculptures, Matysiak incorporates augmented and virtual reality into his practice, allowing for new dimensions of interaction. His innovative use of technology challenges conventional perceptions of sculpture, offering viewers a unique experience that transcends traditional boundaries.

This exhibition showcases a selection of Matysiak’s most recent works, including his acclaimed series Figura Serpentinata, which reflects his fascination with variability and movement. Through this collection, Matysiak invites audiences to contemplate the relationship between solids, volumes, and spatial phenomena.

Experience Michał Matysiak’s innovative sculptures—now including an AR installation for Teckomatorp’s main square. His work blends traditional craftsmanship with digital technology, offering scalable solutions and the ability to visualise public artworks in place before fabrication.

“With augmented reality, my clients can see and scale a sculpture within their own space—ensuring the final result is a perfect fit before it’s ever built.”

Michał Matysiak (b. 1988, Poland) is a multidisciplinary artist with a background in architecture, sculpture, painting, and 3D graphic design. His work is distinguished by its ability to transform public environments, creating interactive landmarks that engage diverse audiences.

A key feature of Matysiak’s approach is his integration of advanced digital tools, including 3D modelling and augmented reality (AR). Currently, visitors can experience this first-hand through a public AR installation on the main square in Teckomatorp—a live example of how technology can activate public space. For clients considering large-scale commissions, Matysiak’s process allows full visualisation of a proposed work in its real setting before fabrication begins. This ensures that each sculpture is not only contextually appropriate but also perfectly scaled to its environment.

Matysiak’s sculptures, such as those from his celebrated “Figura Serpentinata” series, are designed for flexibility and impact. His use of robust materials like welded steel offers exceptional durability and is well suited to outdoor settings, while also providing excellent value for public projects.
